According to the GBACH bylaws, GBACH members are persons registered with GBACH and include only the following:

1) The parents of homeschooled child(ren)

2) The child(ren) for whom a PI-1206 is filed

3) Parents and any children younger than six years of age who are not enrolled in any public school or virtual charter school, and who intend to home school in the future.

4) Alumni - A previous GBACH Member who has graduated a child while s/he and that child were members of GBACH, or a person who graduated while a GBACH member.

By attending Green Bay Area Christian Homeschoolers event or activities, you acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and other illnesses and voluntarily assume the risk that you and your family may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 or other illnesses. You also acknowledge that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 or other illnesses may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of yourself and/or others, including, but not limited to, volunteers, members, and participants and their families. You agree to assume all the foregoing risks, waive liability against GBACH and any other listed parties, and accept sole responsibility for any illness, injury, disability, or death to you or your family, including all claims that may arise resulting from any of these.

2. UNDERSTANDING OF WISCONSIN LAW AND GBACH POLICY:

I understand that GBACH maintains a clear delineation between virtual school, charter schools, and private homeschools and accepts only private homeschools for membership. A private homeschool is a family that has registered with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) using Form PI-1206. Please note that the State of Wisconsin defines virtual and charter schools as public schools, and all children enrolled in them are considered public school students even though they receive instruction at home. Students enrolled in any virtual charter school are not included on PI-1206 forms and are not considered to be homeschooled according to Wisconsin law. Therefore, they are not eligible for GBACH membership, nor can they participate in GBACH only events and activities unless granted explicit permission by the coordinator or board.

3. VERIFICATION OF PI-1206 SUBMITTAL

I will complete and submit form PI-1206 "Home-Based Private Educational Program" to the Department of Public Instruction in accordance with Wisconsin State Statute 118.15(4). I acknowledge that I am not enrolling nor intending to enroll the above listed children in a public virtual or charter school. (1 required) I agree
4. I WILL SUBMIT A COPY OF MY PI-1206 TO GBACH NO LATER THAN NOVEMBER 1 OF THE CURRENT SCHOOL YEAR.

Membership & website access will be suspended if PI-1206 form is not received by November 1^stof the current school year. (Not applicable to alumni or those families who have preschool aged children only)

If you are joining GBACH after November 1st, in the school year the PI-1206 form must be received before your membership will be approved.

5. WAIVER OF LIABILITY

My family shall hold harmless all parties connected with the operation of the Green Bay Area Christian Homeschoolers - to include all those serving in group leadership, those leading field trips or other activities, and the facilities used for meetings or activities - from any claim of or for injury or loss which might result from participation, by any or all of the members and in any of the meetings, activities or events.

6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF THE STATEMENT OF FAITH AND BYLAWS:

I understand that I am responsible for reading the GBACH Statement of Faith and Bylaws available at the GBACH website. I understand that the GBACH Statement of Faith and Bylaws constitute the governing principles of this organization and – though personal belief in the Statement of Faith is not required for membership – I agree to abide by them.

GBACH Events & Volunteer Opportunities

7. GBACH is an entirely volunteer-run organization. In order to maintain the quality of our organization, please contribute in a manner that reflects what you receive from the group, your gifting(s) and/or particular interests. All members should volunteer for positions they would enjoy helping with. According to the GBACH by-laws, committee leadership is accountable to the Board, and shall strive to safeguard the integrity of GBACH by setting an example of Godly character, servant leadership, and sacrifice (Phil 2:1-11). Committee coordinators are to submit an annual written report detailing committee activity. Checking the box doesn't make you the coordinator. You will be notified if/when you are needed to coordinate or help.

A copy of PI-1206 form must be received by the registrar by November 1. Membership and website access will be suspended if PI-1206 form is not received by November 1st of the current school year ([email protected] or mail it in). Not applicable to those families who are Alumni or have children age 6 and under only. If joining after November 1, the copy of the PI-1206 form must be received before approval.
